ListenUp News Publications was founded in 1994 and now has StenoPractice.com as its website/Etsy Shop. Its creation stemmed from an overwhelming interest in Book 1, Mastering Machine Shorthand. Book 1 started as personal practice material, created at home and brought to school. Many students kept asking what that practice material was. At the time, it was just a personal practice routine. It soon became a 92 page book with 500+ briefs index known as Mastering Machine Shorthand. Other books followed, which created the Mastering Machine Shorthand Series.
The most popular two-volume book took over 2 years of research, sitting in various types of depos, multiple theories research, and many months of writing went into creating the 800 Most Common Depo Phrases Books. From easy Q&A to Technical, medial, and numbers, along with brief suggestions for phrases, these two books provide excellent practice for all speeds.
We get many emails and calls from students and always love to hear where they are in school and how they're doing. A lot of ideas for books is tailored around the feedback from students and their practice habits and desires. Our goal has been to help students through school by providing professional, great looking, useful and practical practice materials.
